Blue Guide Museums and Galleries of London (4th edition)

The Blue Guide Museums and Galleries of London is a comprehensive guide to over 150 museums and galleries in London. The book gives detailed descriptions of both buildings and collections, together with highlights, historical information, facilities, opening times, and transport links.

Blue Guides have long enjoyed a reputation as authoritative, accurate and detailed guidebooks. The series began with Blue Guide London in 1918. Findlay Muirhead, experienced English-language editor of the German-originated Baedeker guides, established the Blue Guides with his brother James, after the outbreak of the First World War meant the end of his association with the German firm. They decided to bind the books in blue to distinguish them from their red-jacketed rivals, Baedekers and Murray’s Handbooks. Blue Guides Limited, a Somerset Books company, continues the tradition of publishing excellent guidebooks that respect the heritage of the Blue Guide series.
