Careers 2009
This directory is fast becoming the leading careers reference resource. Developed in consultation with young people and their advisers, it aims to inspire readers to take a proactive approach to their career research and to help them learn about the wide variety of career options available.
Occupations are organised alphabetically within 'career clusters', so that users can find out about related careers and consider those they might not have thought about before.
Each occupation entry concentrates on the key questions young people ask when beginning their research:
- Which career will suit my skills and personal attributes?
- What will the work involve?
- How much can I hope to earn?
- What qualifications will I need?
- What will the working conditions be?
- What are the advantages and disadvantages?
- What is the future outlook for workers in this career?
- Where can I find more information?
- Which other careers are similar to this one?
In addition, there are case studies, providing an insider's view of how to get in and how to get on.
